- Participated in the 'Love Our Country to the Most - Patriotic Malaysian Artistes Mini-Concert' in Malaysia
- Appointed as one of the spokesperson for the 16th Commonwealth Games held in Malaysia, he sang the 1998 Commonthwealth Games chinese theme song 'Let The World Shine Because of Love', which was written by himself. Taking the position as the spokesperson in charge of Public Relations, Michael proudly took charge in promoting patriotism throughout the whole nation.
- 17/5-18/5 - Took part in the 'Love Our Country to the Most - Patriotic Artistes One-Day Trip'. Travelled in Malaysia to Ipoh and Penang for a visit with other local artistes, which promoted the local tourism as well. This caused a lot of fans to notice the scenic spots.
- Attended the 'Love Our Country to the Most - Patriotic Malaysian Artistes Mini-Concert'. Sang the 1998 Commonthwealth Games chinese theme song 'Let The World Shine Because of Love'. Besides that, he also donated RM 1000 to the Malaysia Patriotism Foundation.
- 15/8 - Held a big 'Let the World Shine Because of Love' compassionate concert.
1999
- Participated in Lee Zong Sheng's 'I Listen To Malaysia's Music' music talk
- Participated in the 'Save the Local Chinese Music Industry' campaign, he and many other local artistes, like Zhang Ze and Island travelled to Penang, Ipoh and other places in Malaysia to campaign about stopping piracy.
-2/11 - Participated in Lee Zong Sheng's 'I Listen To Malaysia's Music' music talk. He and many local artistes share their own thoughts and music which gave everyone a better understanding on Malaysia's own chinese music industry.
2000
- Became the first chinese singer to perform in the Bukit Jalil Putra Indoor Stadium.
2001
- Officially launches the opening of his own music school (Encore Music)
- Supported the Taipei Gida team in the Taiwan Major League as the spokesperson with Dan Lian (Unrequited Love) as the theme song
- Composed two songs [Hui Dao Yi Ge Ren (Return Alone) and Di Yi Ci (The First Time)] for GTV's drama series,White Love
- 11/7 - Michael Wong's 'Wearing my Freedom on Me - My Music Career' Music Session. Shared the bits and pieces of his music with the audience.He gave everyone a better understanding on his career as a singer/composer.
- 16/6 - Took part in 'Superstars with Shanghai Symphony Orchestra Charity Concert'. Performed together with Jeff Chang and Victor Huang. Their performance attracted fans from Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The concert was meant to raise funds for the Malaysian Society of the Blind.
- Michael Wong's 'I Want to Write a Theme Song' Lyric-writing Competition which welcomes all to try their hands on writing the lyrics of the theme song for his first solo album. It captured the attention of many and the works submitted were more than a thousand.
2002
- Became the Anti-Aids Campaign's spokeperson together with Xin Xiao Qi and Wan Fang Dan
- Guang Liang,Pin Guan,Liang Jing Ru,Angelica Lee and Ah Niu records 'Ai Wu Suo Bu Zai' (Love is Everywhere) for charity in aid of children
- Participated in the NKF charity show in Singapore
2003

- Participated in the WildAid campaign in Malaysia for prevention of cruelty against wildlife
2004
- Awarded Best Local Singer in the Malaysian Entertainment Awards
- Participated in fundraising events for Chinese schools in Malaysia by performing at the 'Nanyang Charity Concert' and other charity events as well.
- 17/10 - Michael Wong's Singing and Sharing Good Songs Session' which was held by Encore Music. He shared his thoughts and ways on singing good songs.
- In conjuction with his new album 'Guang Mang',Taiwan's tv show 'Showbitz' sent a team to Malaysia with Michael playing the tourism envoy role to promote Malaysia to Taiwan fans. The shooting venues include some batik shops in Selangor and other places featuring Malaysia's local cuisine too.
2005
- Joined Seed Music and A Music recording labels
- Performed in 'Mr Wing : A Romantic Rhapsody',his first live stage drama for 8 shows in Taiwan
- Appeared as a guest appearance at Leon Lai's 2005 concert
- Shortlisted as Tourism Malaysia's ambassador
- Became the spokesperson for LG Muse 3G handphone with Leon Lai and Janice
2006 - Held first concert in the Hong Kong Colliseum
- Officially appointed as Tourism Malaysia's ambassador
- Entered the Malaysia Book of Records as the Malaysian Chinese Male Composer with the highest number of awards and also for The Best Selling Chinese Album,Tong Hua (Fairy Tale)
- Nominated for Best Composer Award in the Golden Melody Awards
- Became the spokesperson for RCG - Biometrics, RFID, Security
Note: ** Since being in the music scene till now, Michael has been active in participating in fundraising events for Chinese schools.He helped many chinese schools raise funds in order to build a brighter future for the students. For example, Michael also performed at the 'Nanyang Charity Concert' and other charity events as well.
